1. As a data entry contractor, how will I be paid for my work?
You will be paid on a per-piece basis. Each of our projects is different, varying in complexity. For some projects, the amount of data to be entered is small and people are able to input anywhere from 2-4 forms per minute. Compensation for these projects ranges from 4-8 cents per form. Other projects are complex, requiring 30-60 minutes per document, with compensation ranging from $5-9 per document. All contractors working on the same project are paid the same per-piece rate.
2. When and how often will I be paid?
You will submit an invoice to Axion every two weeks (every other Friday). You can e-mail or mail the invoice to us. You will bill us for all the work completed during the preceding two weeks, including the day of the invoice. Your invoice will be paid 28 days after the invoice date.
3. Do I have any choice about when I perform my work?
In general, you can do your work any time you choose. There are a few exceptions however where client turnaround requirements impact the timing of our work.
4. Are there any requirements about where I do my work?
You can perform your work anywhere you have a connection to the Internet. We have set up data entry site on the Internet that you will log onto. We recommend a DSL or cable modem connection. After entering your user ID and password, you will choose from a list of projects. Each project has its own data entry screen. The data you enter will be immediately stored on the web server. When you are done working, just log off.
5. How does Axion know how much work I did?
When you log in to our data entry system, you will be required to enter a user name and password. Your user name will be recorded as part of the data for each document you process, thus giving us an accurate count of your work. This also gives us an audit trail for quality assurance and control.
6. May I get other people to perform the work for me? Yes. As an independent contractor you or any of your employees may perform the work.
7. Is there a quota I must satisfy?
In general, our contractors specify how much work they are able to do and we try to provide them the amount they want. However, the amount of work we receive from our clients varies from week to week, so there is no guarantee we can always provide the full amount requested. Most of our contractors perform work for us on a part-time basis with the average commitment ranging from 20-25 hours per week.
8. Are there any fees I must pay?
No.
9. Do I have to buy any new software?
Generally, no. In rare circumstances, our client's projects may require the use of third-party software. If you do not already have the software, you will have to obtain the software directly from the software company. Currently, only one of our projects requires such software. It costs $99. In addition, you will need a software program from Citrix that enables you to connect to our data entry center. The Citrix program is a FREE download.
10. How soon will I be contacted?
There are currently 60+ contractors performing data entry services for Axion. We do not want to discourage you from registering; however, there is a very long waiting list of people who have signed up to be considered, and it would be unrealistic for you to expect to be contacted any time soon.
11. Why do I need DSL or a cable modem connection?
All of our work involves typing from scanned images. The images require a fast connection in order to be displayed quickly. If you only have a 56K modem, it will take too long for the images to be displayed and you will be wasting a lot of time.
